LED Lighting Upgrade

January 2020 saw the removal of the old style filament lights and replacement of them with the LED lighting system. The new lights are much brighter and work well.

Three days of labour for 4 volunteers saw the removal of the old lights, reuse of the pit lids (after de spidering and cleaning), assembly of the new lights and attachment of same to the lids. The lids were then taken out to the runway and the lights plugged in to their new SITS and fitted.

Several hours of work was done to troubleshoot and ensure that all the lights worked. We found that it was possible for polarity to be reversed in a SIT!
